All members are guided and regulated according to AICB’s Constitution, Bye-Laws, Code of Professional Conduct and other mandates. A formal process upholds these standards, enabling any complaints about members to be heard, evaluated and fairly dealt with, assuring confidentiality, independence and the right to appeal.
CODE OF PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
AICB’s Code of Professional Conduct helps members observe the highest standards of conduct, integrity and competence. It encourages members to consider public interests and maintain the confidence and trust of customers, employers, business partners and other stakeholders, thereby upholding the reputation of the banking profession.
The terms and spirit of this Code set out the principles of professional conduct expected and required of individual members, providing interpretations and guidance for each. Failure to comply could result in disciplinary action.
COMPLAINTS AND INVESTIGATION REGULATIONS
These regulations set out the procedures for the initial assessment and investigation of any complaint against Individual Members of the Institute.
DISCIPLINARY REGULATIONS
These regulations set out the procedures for the hearing of any formal complaint against an Individual Member referred by the Chief Executive Officer to a Disciplinary Committee.
APPEAL REGULATIONS
These regulations set out the procedures for the hearing by an Appeal Committee of any appeal by an Individual Member against a finding or order of a Disciplinary Committee.
