“The Banker of the Future” webinar, which took place on 20 October 2020 @ 9.30 am, featured key speakers from PwC, NAB, Judo Bank and FINSIA. The discussion centred on the profile of a future banker, who — according to the panel — must be one that upskills constantly and is accredited, has the resilience and agility to adapt to the fast-paced banking industry, and displays critical thinking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathise with others. Considering that 5%–10% of professional roles are disrupted every year, the speakers concurred that all professionals in banking must be a technologist capable of handling data and has a good grasp on the science and craft of risk management. The importance of positive organisational culture was also emphasised, with top management leading the way. The webinar was attended by over 200 participants, who actively engaged with the speakers through the Q&A session and chats.
