AICB and Deloitte Malaysia held its first webinar collaboration on 15 Nov 2021 @ 10 am on the topic “Cyber Risks in a Digital Ecosystem – Cyber Risk Management in the New Normal”. Cyber risk experts from Deloitte, Karthik Sundar, Director, Risk Advisory – Infrastructure Security, and Azlan Mohamed Ghazali, Director – Cyber Risk, discussed the evolving cyberthreat landscape and the challenges faced by financial institutions in keeping pace with the latest attack techniques and defence methods, while ensuring adherence to regulatory and legislative requirements. Referencing the Risk Management in Technology (RMiT) policy document by Bank Negara Malaysia, which mandates that financial institutions undertake assessments such as intelligence-led penetration testing and compromise assessments on a periodic basis, the speakers also highlighted the need for FIs to move from a reactive model to a pro-active approach when managing cyberattacks, and explored the latest cyberattack trends and the techniques and tactics adopted by cyber professionals through a live demonstration. The webinar was attended by over 100 participants.
