AICB and PwC Malaysia collaborated on its first webinar for 2021 on 15 April 2021 @ 9.30 am. Titled “Accelerating Sustainability-ESG: How the Banking Industry can Truly Make a Difference to the Communities”, speakers from PwC Malaysia Andrew WK Chan, Sustainability & Climate Change Leader, and Nik Shahrizal Sulaiman, Risk Assurance Partner, shared the latest ESG developments and considerations in the banking sector; the implications of ESG in strategy, risk management framework and operations; and the incremental steps banks are taking to fight climate change. Attendees were advised that the ESG agenda will become increasingly important in the banking sector, and mitigating the physical, transitional and reputational risks that banks face from climate change requires the crucial involvement of the Board and senior management. The webinar was attended by 120 individuals.
