We ended November with a webinar done in collaboration with AICB’s Compliance Officers’ Networking Group (CONG) and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) titled “How the Private Sector Can Play an Active Role in Public-Private Partnerships” on 19 November 2020 @ 10 am. The line-up of panellists comprised representatives from Bank Negara Malaysia, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC), Western Union and HM Revenue & Customs, UK, all of who have vast experience in anti-money laundering and counter financing of terrorism, compliance, fraud investigation, and intelligence gathering of financial and organised crime, among others. Discussions centred on updates to the PPP scene in Malaysia, initiatives by the UK’s Joint Money Laundering Intelligence Taskforce (JMLIT) in the area of organised crime, the Fintel Alliance programme under AUSTRAC, and Cornerstone – the US Homeland Security Investigation’s financial investigations outreach initiative. The webinar was attended by 138 participants, who actively engaged with the speakers through the Q&A session and chats.
