We refer to the preliminary notice on 27 February 2020 and the update to the preliminary notice on 18 March 2020.
On 16 March 2020, the Government announced the implementation of the 14-day Movement Control Order (“MCO”) from 18 March 2020 to 31 March 2020 to curb the spread of the Coronavirus Disease (“Covid-19”) infection in Malaysia where all business premises except for those providing essential services were required to be closed.
Further to this, on 25 March 2020, the Government announced on the extension of the MCO to 14 April 2020 due to the rising new cases of Covid-19 reported. Subsequently, the third phase of MCO was extended to 28 April 2020.
On 23 April 2020, the Government further announced that fourth phase be extended until 12 May 2020 after it was determined that the country’s Covid-19 infection curve was nowhere near flattening. Malaysia has since moved to the fifth phase of MCO also known as Conditional Movement Control Order (“CMCO”), which is extended to 9 June 2020.
Following the above announcements on MCO and CMCO, Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (“AICB” or “the Institute”) wishes to notify its members that the 42nd Annual General Meeting (“AGM”) which was scheduled to be held at Multipurpose Hall, Level 1, AICB Building, No. 10, Jalan Dato’ Onn, 50480 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Wednesday, 10 June 2020 at 11.00 a.m. is now rescheduled to be held on Wednesday, 8 July 2020 at 10.30 a.m.
In line with the change in the date of AGM to Wednesday, 8 July 2020, the date for submission of nomination of candidate(s) for election to the Council under Article 71(2) of the Institute’s Constitution and for re-election to the Council under Article 71(1) of the Institute’s Constitution is now extended to 20 May 2020.
All the other information in the Preliminary Notice of AICB 42nd AGM shall remain unchanged.
