AICB Office Remains Closed Following Extension of MCO but Business Operations Continue as Usual

25 Mar 2020

In view of growing concerns about the COVID-19 outbreak, we wish to assure you that AICB is taking the necessary precautionary measures to prevent the spread of infection and safeguard the health of members and staff.

In line with the Prime Minister’s announcement on the extension of the Movement Control Order (MCO) on 25 March 2020, AICB’s physical office will remain closed from now until 14 April 2020 (or until the MCO is lifted). However, we will continue to operate business as usual from Mondays to Fridays, from 9 am to 6 pm. If you would like to get in touch with us, kindly email our Member Services team atenquiries@aicb.org.my, which is preferred, or call us at 012-971 6833 or 012-972 6833. As there may be a high volume of calls during this time, you may experience a slight delay in response. Therefore, we appreciate your kind understanding on this matter.

The Institute has also made arrangements to postpone several key events and examinations in 2020. However, AICB remains committed to its mandate of professionalising bankers and has been collaborating with industry to support and develop several online initiatives. Do visit our website and social media pages for updates on our latest announcements and developments.

Additionally, we have also implemented our Business Continuity Plan and developed several policies and guidelines on visitor screenings, meetings and travel to ensure that we manage the situation in the best way possible.

As we continue to monitor developments on the COVID-19 outbreak and updates issued by the relevant health authorities, we encourage all parties to practice good personal hygiene habits as the best form of protection against this pandemic.

In the meantime, thank you for your support and do stay safe.

Prasad Padmanaban
Chief Executive
